Project objective

The objective of the project is the study and collection of data in the marine currents of the Atlantic Ocean, by means of scientific buoys equipped with measuring devices, and data collection via satellite. Launched from oceanographic vessel Hesperidia

Product development

Our mission was the development of the surface buoy with anchor layer, which could withstand the inclemency of the Atlantic and impacts caused by merchant ships or large objects.

Phases undertaken in project:

  • Conceptual design of product adjusting to the required parameters.
  • Buoy geometry design.
  • Study and thermoplastic tests more suitable to use.
  • Design of tools and injection molds.
  • Production of injection molds.
  • Validation pre-series.
  • Manufacture of series.

Conclusión

The buoys have been in service for the time foreseen in the scientific projects to which they were assigned. Becoming these, in reference for oceanographic studies at international level.
