29 Jun High strength nylon: flame retardant materials
Nylon is not a product, but a generic name given to thermoplastics produced from polyamides.
With aramid or rigid polyamides, anti-flame parts are manufactured, such as firemen’s suits and other security utilities: harnesses, reflective tapes and protective complements in which the incombustibility of the material is fundamental for the utility and good performance.
What are aramids?
Aramid fiber is a yellow material formed by a synthetic polyamide chain. Polyamides loaded with heavy metals, Teflon and other raw materials, have special characteristics, such as its high resistance to fire, its resistance to shocks and organic solvents. With aramid we manufacture the pieces that need to be extra resistant to the environment and to the impacts, like the pieces fireproof.
Aramids: flame retardant materials
Aramids are a type of resistant fiber polyamides that can be aromatic – its name derives from “aromatic polyamide”, however its most important forms are fire aramid with which antiflames materials are manufactured as flame retardant firefighting suits and other anti-inflammable or personal protection products.
Anti-flame polyamides is the most qualified material in fire protection and offers innumerable advantages in manufacturing, because it is ultra-light, adapts easily to the most demanding designs and is relatively economical; In this way, safety accessories and anti-fire clothing can be manufactured and made available to the general public at an affordable price.
